The simplest future loss reports produced by Turnbull and Company are multiplier reports. The most common types of these reports are loss of future earnings reports and costs of future care reports (although multipliers can also be used for lost benefits, pension losses, and virtually any other future pecuniary loss). The typical multiplier table calculates the present value of $1,000 per year from a valuation, trial or mediation date onwards. It is set up so that a present value can be estimated for any combination of losses within the period covered by the table. The table is accompanied by a report that describes how the table can be used and includes illustrative examples (that can be customized to more closely match the facts of a particular case). Multiplier reports are useful if an annual future loss amount is already known and what is needed is a conversion to a present day lump sum. They can also be helpful in estimating the value of an approximate annual future loss of capacity. Multiplier reports can be taken to a mediation or settlement conference to aid in a more meaningful discussion of future pecuniary losses and costs. They can also be used in a trial setting as expert evidence.

At Turnbull and Company, the basic multiplier reports are charged out at a flat rate. A loss of future earnings report currently costs $325 and a costs of future care report is $375. Other multiplier reports can also be prepared on request.
